Life's Soundtrack – Bags and Trane to Jesse Cook!

And it’s the only album that the two jazz greats Milt “Bags” Jackson and John Coltrane made together. Recorded in 1959 the album also features the great  Paul Chambers on bass, Connie Kay on drums and some great piano from Hank Jones. The later was the surprise of the album for me. You know you’re going to hear great vibes and sax from Bags and Trane respectively, but what I didn’t know was that I would hear some great piano and bass! Overall, it’s a great listen!

Next up was a mix of Herbie Hancock’s music. Now, I’m not a big Hancock fan but my son has several albums that I put on the iPod and today I listened to a mix a tracks for about an hour and found it quite enjoyable and will probably do it again on a jazzy day!  The last jazz artist of the day, well, I guess he’s more a New Age artist  was the great Jesse Cook.
