Purchase a beading mat from the craft store, or cut up a fleece or velour blanket. This will help keep your beads from rolling around while you work. Match up the diameter of the bead wire to the crimp bead/tube. The packages will usually tell you the corresponding number. This is important because if the crimp tube is too wide compared to the beading wire, your necklace won't hold.
