Shirley calls herself a “baseball-hat, jeans and flats kind of gal.” But April, also a Milton resident and a mother of three, said that’s an understatement.

“Don’t let her fool you,” April said with a laugh. “This is a woman who doesn’t go to Wal-Mart without a full face of makeup. If she’s in a baseball cap and jeans, they’re good-fitting jeans, and her hat is coordinated with her top and purse. Her casual is, like, ‘Whoa, look at her,’ and you can tell a lot of thought went into it.”

But just because both mother and daughter put thought into their outfits doesnÂ’t mean they put a lot of money into them, as well.

April, who frequently acts as ShirleyÂ’s personal shopper, often scores big at thrift stores, outlets and discount stores. T.J.Maxx, Bealls Outlet in Milton, rue21 in Pace, Helping Hand Missions in Pace and Waterfront Rescue Mission are some of her favorite hot spots.
