Girl Scouts Give to A Baby's Breath
On March 24, an estimated 150 Girl Scouts from the Spring-Ford Service Unit, met at the Seventh Grade Flex Center for a Baby Shower. The shower was hosted by Daisy Troop 714 and Junior Troop 7902. The guests were asked to bring any baby item, and a wide assortment was included from diapers, formula, and articles of clothing to rattles, bottles, wipes, even a couple of first aid kits were among the offerings.
All of these items were being donated to A Baby’s Breath organization located in the Collegeville area. In return for their generous gifts, the girls got to play games like stroller derby, where they strapped a doll baby into a stroller and, while donning a purse and diaper bag, raced through an obstacle course in relay style race. First team to have all of their girls go through the course and back, won.
Other activities included baby bottle bowling, a dress the baby relay and the interesting game of food tasting – whereby girls were given samples of baby food and asked to identify the flavors. Many of the girls thought that was some of the worst tasting stuff they ever tried and could not believe that for some it had been just 5 years since they were fed the fruits and veggies from a jar.
What are your favorite baby shower games? | 32 inch shower enclosure
A hit at my baby shower was don’t say ‘baby’. Guests were given a nappy pin (you can use ribbon or something else. Basically guests were not allowed to say the word baby and if they did the person to first notice they said baby takes their pin. The person with the most pins at the end wins. My mum went crazy every time she heard the word baby she really wanted to win even after the shower she still wouldn’t say baby lol.
At my sister’s baby shower, the hostesses froze mini plastic babies (about the size of a penny) into ice cubes. One of the games was to see whose baby was ‘born’ first (who could get their ice cube to melt fastest). Some of the guests did some pretty hilarious things to melt their ice cubes quickly : ) It can get pretty creative!
whats in your purse game. the ladies will have fun playing and if guys are present they will be shocked or awakened. Before the party make a list of baby related stuff or things that a mother would carry around like crayons, wipes, kleenex, condoms etc. then at the shower tell all the ladies to have their purses ready, for each item you call out the ladies have to search through their purse and if they have the item then they take it so everyone can see. when you finish calling out all the items look around and the lady that has the most items wins a prize. What i did at my cousin’s shower was call out the item really fast and everybody got crazy. It will be fun to see all the stuff people carry around in their purses. put some funny stuff like spoon on the list. Here is a list of stuff you could use http://www.fun-babyshower-games.com/purse-game.html
