2012 TEXAS AUTHORS SERIES
2012 TEXAS AUTHORS SERIES
The 2012 Texas Author Series, sponsored by Friends of the Abilene Public Library, concludes at noon May 7 with Joe Nick Patoski speaking about his book on Texas High School Football: More Than the Game, published in conjunction with an exhibit at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum.
His next book, coming this fall, is about the Dallas Cowboys.
Sandwich plates will be available for $5, or you can bring your own lunch. Drinks will be provided. Books by the featured authors will be available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the library. The brown bag sessions in the series are free and are held on the second floor of the downtown library, 202 Cedar St. The event is made possible by the Friends of the Abilene Public Library and the West Texas Book Festival.
FOR THE PURSE-AHOLICS

The event in the Grand Ballroom of the Abilene Country Club will feature a live auction of new and gently used handbags and a silent auction of purses, wallets, evening bags, diaper bags, children's bags and more.
