Stone Mountain's Irvin goes 15th; Glenn, Hill not picked

Seattle selected Irvin with the 15th overall pick. Irvin’s climb into the first-round of the NFL draft is a tale of turning his life around and following his dreams.

The former Stephenson High student ran with the wrong crowd. After being arrested and spending three weeks in jail, he decided to turn his life around. Irvin earned a GED and enrolled at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif.

He had 16 sacks in one season and attracted 27 major-college offers. He elected to attend West Virginia. He was candid with teams about his past while interviewing at the NFL scouting combine.

Two other local players had a more disappointing Thursday night. Georgia offensive lineman Cordy Glenn, who played at Riverdale High School, and Georgia Tech wide receiver Stephen Hill, who played at Miller Grove, remained undrafted after Day 1.

Both players were in New York as invited guests of the NFL. Among those who were picked, nine of the players were from SEC schools and three from the ACC.

The Stone Mountain Park – An Atlanta Area Attraction By Eric Mabo At Isnare.com Ezine Articles

The Stone Mountain Park got its name from the Stone Mountain, which is a granite stone rock. The Stone Mountain is located in the suburbs of Atlanta. The height of the mountain is about 513m. Most people believe that the Stone Mountain is the largest granite stone in the world. But Abercrombie & Fitch , when you compare the Stone Mountain with the El Capitan in Yosemite Coach 1941 , you will discover that it is just one fourth the height of the El Capitan Mountain in Yosemite, which is the tallest granite stone on earth.

The Stone Mountain is about 8km, if you want to go round. To reach the top of the mountain easily, use the sky ride. On the top of the mountain, you may find pools of water formed from the gathering of rainwater. At certain periods of the year the visibility of the Stone Mountain is limited because of fog which covers the whole place. There are some tiny Shrimp in the pools of water on the mountain. The tiny shrimp usually dies when the pools of water dries off and you can only find but their eggs, which are to survive when it rains again.
